More Than a Platform.
A Movement for Host Independence.

Empowering short-term rental hosts to reclaim their business and build a lasting brand.

OUR WHY

We started MaxCozy because we saw hosts becoming commodities on platforms they didn't own.

We believe your business should be yours.

The Mission

Brand Ownership

Build a recognizable brand and direct booking presence that you own outright.

Guest Relationships

Cultivate direct, repeat connections with your guests without the middleman.

Long-term Growth

Create a sustainable, independent future for your rental business.

My Story

My name is Martin Spooner, and I started MaxCozy because I've spent over 25 years running accommodation businesses — and I know exactly what it costs when your guests book through Airbnb instead of coming directly to you.

I hold a BA Honours Degree in Hotel and Catering Management and began my career at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado, one of the most prestigious five-star, five-diamond resorts in the USA. I progressed through General Manager and Operations Manager roles across the IHG estate before becoming Director of College Services at Christ’s College, Cambridge in 2013.

At Christ’s College I oversee 122 en-suite rooms for commercial short-stay use. When I joined, revenues stood at £400,000 per year. By year two, they exceeded £1.4 million, achieved by implementing a Property Management System and building direct booking processes that reduced OTA dependency.

Alongside this, I spent five years building WordPress websites under my MDS Websites brand. MaxCozy brings both worlds together: deep hospitality expertise and professional web design, purpose-built for STR hosts.

“Hosts should own their brand, their traffic, and their repeat business. You deserve more than a listing — you deserve a legacy.”

– Martin Spooner, Founder of MaxCozy
